I think it just proves that everything in life has to be difficult, and it's worth fighting over because it's a lot of money, but doesn't it just figure? BTW if it came to it I would never pay them for an engine, I'd take my stuff out of the dealer in boxes and have my engine fixed, it's not disposable like a dealer would think.
Warranty work is tricky because they never take your word for anything. Of course they ran your engine, they had to diagnose the problem. No skin off their back, they don't fix engines they replace them. Here's a good way to solve an LS3 oil pump failure without having to buy a new engine.
If the low oil pressure warning comes on, shut the engine off and have it towed somewhere, then A, fix it yourself or B tell the service facility to push it in and tear it down because you are paying whether you are wrong or right. And, don't use the freakin' dealer.
Some warranty work just isn't worth the hassle.
