GM's own engineers have incorporated this very same design in the current generation Camaro and similar vehicles. No reason for them to reject an obvious enhancement to the car they realized themselves was necessary.
This is like saying we won't support your 2010-2013 Camaro because you installed a hood vent, when the 2013+ models have it from factory.
