the magnuson moss act states that a modification cannot be proved to have caused a failure...well it should be covered when its under the warranty. On the other hand also there is lemon laws in various states that also cover things... the repeated replacement of a oil pump which repeatedly starved the motor and its components for oil causing damage to it would be a great place to start along with the ACT..... Also talking directly to GM and going through another dealer and Filing Suit yourself for the estimated cost to replace the engine. Lawyers are like a plaque, You pay the fee for suit filing and guarantee you will get their attention, I have resolved things out of court several times with those that have wronged me, And with free advice from legal aid filed papers myself, and recovered what I wanted and it only cost me filing fees. The thing is the higher you go the more it costs, and if it were to go to court as I have been to before you better have all the documents form repairs, oil changes anything related to the operation of a simple catch can, and I would even have torn down the engine and bring in worn parts..... One time I brought a cylinder head to court, and yes I won.
But as far as being a day late and a dollar short, you may be screwed in that respect, so do the research, you do IMO have a right to expect a engine that's trouble free for the life of the warranty, if replacement of the pump should have extended the warranty, well that something to investigate, Good Luck.
