I could see that, but by doing so it may (potentially) take some air out of the ZL1 sales. I'd expect more like 2 years from now. That was the gap between the 5th gen ZL1 and Z/28. Having said that, if GM had planned on making the ZL1 a Z/28 and decided against it late into the game, then that may explain a longer gap last time around.
The real questions...will it be priced anywhere near $76K and will it be anywhere near as hardcore as the the 5th gen? It would seem not, given the lackluster sales of the 5th gen. However, if it's low $60K range then it's definitely going to take a bite out of ZL1 sales. It will be interesting to see how this plays out!
