Damn right it's true. GM wanted to do a colonoscopy on me last time I took my Traverse in for a lug nut cover that had fallen off. They wanted to make sure I wasn't hiding it from them.
Take off your foil caps folks. No conspiracy here. Just a company protecting itself and enforcing their rules. Do I think an oil catch can was the problem? NO. Did the OP have an idiot for a dealer? YES. Will I stop buying GM? NO. I'm going to buy far inferior quality cars from its competitors in my price range just to stick it to GM? No thanks. A Tahoe, 3 Traverses, 2 CTSs and 2 Camaros since 2008. 0 problems. I'll stick with what I know.
