Oddly and I'm not sure if it is accurate or not but when I first checked the firmware on the Metra Interface it was on version 1.8 and the two updates that were sent to me were labeled version 1.4 and then 1.3. Neither of those updates crashed my electrical system and I am still on version 1.3 since I have no reason to change it. If their version labeling is correct then the older firmware versions work fine with our Camaro and only after they have updated it has it caused it to not work. I find this strange and it may just be a version labeling issue meaning that the updates I received could be newer than 1.8 but I have no way of knowing. Either way I am happy now. 
I chose the Metra kit because I am not fond of touch screens for climate controls and based on online reviews the Scosche kit touch screen seems to fail a little too early in its lifespan but I do admit it does look prettier. |
