When I was renting cars twice a month in 2010-2011, I had the opportunity to test a ton of 4 door "full sized" vehicles. I was never impressed with any of the GM models at the time as they looked and felt cheap. I was 'upgraded' into a Genesis on accident a few times and I was truly amazed at how easily it blew the competition away. I enjoyed the Regal of the late 89-92, but couldn't get enthusiastic about recent variations. My fav was the Ford Taurus as it offered the largest of everything conceivably thought of for the money (interior size/hp/entertainment/features), but had the depreciation curve much like the Genesis. My Alero is still running (albeit last leg / 7th life / 265k+ mi), though I'll be returning to compare these models again in the next 12 months I imagine. Hopefully GM found a clue, though hopefully I'll be surprised as this Regal model actually looks appealing.
