The V6 definitely has adequate power, and the lighter weight is good. You can't argue with the lower cost of purchase, insurance, and gas. However, the SS is more than just a bigger engine. It is the complete performance package: brakes, suspension, etc. If they have a package for the V6 to get it close the SS's braking and suspension, it would almost certainly win, but for now I think the extra money for the top-of-the-line (until the Z28 or whatever the call it comes out) will be worth it. I'm considering the V6, but I'd have to have all the info released (pricing, options, etc), get insurance quotes on both, and see what markups/markdowns the dealers are making on each model before making my decision.
