With todays divisive politics, it's going to be a low approval unless there is a 60 vote margin on either side. If we had a republican controlled senate with 52 to 48 it would be just as low, you can't get anything done with a 3 vote margin, not in todays politics.
Being democrat or republican has nothing to do with it, democrats can't pass liberal bills, republicans can't pass conservative bills, no one is happy.if there was a 60 vote margin, it would probably be 40-60% approval, but not everyone will ever be happy.
Let me add that it's even worse when the president is of a different part than congress, such as now, that makes it impossible to get a lot done.

I think we need a politics forum....
