Being democrat or republican has nothing to do with it, democrats can't pass liberal bills, republicans can't pass conservative bills, no one is happy.if there was a 60 vote margin, it would probably be 40-60% approval, but not everyone will ever be happy.
Let me add that it's even worse when the president is of a different part than congress, such as now, that makes it impossible to get a lot done.

It's impossible to get anything done whatever the circumstances, the problem is lifetime politicians slopping at the trough of public funds. Couple that with a Supreme Court that barely recognizes that we have a Constitution and you have a ready made situation for disaster. It's become a "citizens be damned, we'll do what we want" scenario rather than acting to preserve our rights and freedoms and allowing us "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Our Armed Forces protect us, our politicians ruin us.
