If you don't have the Valley Cover to lower manifold like I do (the L99 does not have the outlet on the manifold), then the 'Drivers' side is considered the 'dirty' side and should go to the manifold, and the passenger's side goes to the intake. You would put the 'catch can' on the 'dirty side'...
The 'clean side' goes to the air intake (after the MAF)...

I previously had my catch can hooked between the valley cover port and the intake manifold port really close to that. My drivers side valve cover has always been capped off. I have an ls3
