I would never go that low on compression.

There are a TON of good pistons. Ross, Diamond, Mahle, JE, wiesco, etc etc.

Rods depends on application and power goals. For a stock block/crank a Calles Compstar rod or equivalent works well and will take 1000hp no issue.
