Love the 3/4 Birch myself, good choice. Same sonic quality as MDF at half the weight.

Unfamiliar with Sky High, but looks like a clone of KnuKonceptz and quick reading looks like quality stuff.

Good call with XS, you'll be fine up to the 1,500w range. Rule of thumb is dimming lights when bass hits as I'm sure you already know.
