There are plenty of good reasons to have a fire extinguisher handy, even if you don't want to stop your car from burning. How 'bout another small fire nearby? To beat back flames to give you or someone else room to rescue someone? Small brush fire?
I HAVE used my car f.e. to keep a brush fire at bay while waiting for the fire department and two of us kept it from spreading to an adjacent apartment building. I want one in my car always.
