So, after I rebuilt the 4150 Holleys, I had to make a flying trip to Houston, dropping off and picking up tires, and James re-installed the carbs. He had changed the plugs and wires, and cleaned the fuel tank and lines, changed the oil and filter etc.... They charged the battery and cranked it a bit with the plug wires off to circulate the oil then sprayed a little starter helper in the carbs, and she fired right up... She was idling really high. This was yesterday... Today, I adjusted the linkage for the carbs and got her idling really nice at 900ish RPM's... she fires right up and runs like a top... Gotta love them old school small and big block chevy motors...
Tomorrow, Friday, we may put her on the dyno and make some easy pulls while we verify the timing advance and make sure everything is ok... then I might take her for a short spin around the area... Brakes, transmission and everything else seems in great shape so far... We found a couple of minor lighting wiring issues we will address and a couple bulbs that need to be replaced...
