You can argue on engine potential, but those arguments are very complicated and difficult to prove. For example, if I can prove that a Camaro benefits more than a Mustang with a certain type of intake, then I can prove that GM designed the motor with more untapped potential in the intake of the car. To prove that one car has the most potential would require researching just about every horsepower-producing component and showing that one car has the most untapped potential.

Clearly, this argument would take a PhD in physics and would require way too much time, so I guess it makes sense that no one uses it.
