I hated the old cap holder where the dang cap kept getting in the way while pumping gas. If you use your finger and push the little plastic tether into the hook, it stays just fine. Well at least mine does. If you having difficulty, verify that you don't have plastic buildup in the crease preventing your tether from staying put. You can always take an exacto knife and enlarge the opening to hold the tether better.
