I really hope you're referring to tires that are DIFFERENT sizes. There is absolutely nothing mechanically wrong with putting on two tires of a different brand as long as they are the same size (and performance grade). I'm not one to care about those them matching, so as long as they are both performance tires I'm fine.

Still haven't heard any specific recommendations...
