correct. Or may be coming out fully but the compressor may be to far forward so it is walking off when it engages. Start the car and have someone inside car. Watch the compressor motor as person inside turns on and off a\c. Check both modes; reg and on max. You might see the issue. Does the belt walk off toward front of car to bumper or walk back to to the motor? If it is going to front at walk off then the compressor motor is to far forward and you need to move it back.
