last I heard, only about 15% or so of cars produced come in a manual. back in the day, manual's were standard on base model and lower trim level cars. that why a lot of older people know how to drive them.

I didn't think about the amount of Manual/automatic availbility in current time. You are right, if there are way more autos being made, then lots of people probably wouldn't even think about learning, or trying to drive a manual
