I've got a Dashlogic unit and it displays what gear I'm in. Don't know how it does it but assume the same way as the CAGS indicator  as I can be stopped in 1st gear with clutch in and it displays 0 gear. BTW I have the CAGS bypass installed but the 1-4 display still shows up ...when it does I say "go F**k yourself "  |
The dashlogic unit must be comparing the rpm and vehicle speed sensor to determine the gear then the clutch is out.
