Pro Mods use a 3 speed Lenco.
Pro Stock cars use a Liberty or G-Force 5 speed transmission.
Funny Cars and Top Fuel have one forward and a reverse gear.
They have multi-disk clutches that progressively lockup.

They do, but it is only used when starting from a dead stop or when they spin. It is a button on the steering wheel and application is configured before the race begins. They have 8 speed transmissions controlled with paddles.
Indy cars use a similar set-up.
