I actually drove 3 hours to pick up one of the only manuals in all of Southern California. There are a ton of autos out there and more power to you, my DD is an auto, but I also take the Camaro out daily just to enjoy driving it.
I'm of the mentality that sports cars should be manuals. I do love the sequential gear boxes that you get with European cars, I have a friend that has a 458 that is beyond phenomenal to drive, the shifting is instantaneous.
They both have their own merits and all it comes down to is a subjective point of view, and let's face it, we buy and drive these cars for the experience, whether that's downshifting hard or holding second through the onramp or whether it's being able to just mash down the peddle and go....to each their own.
I have a 71 Ford that's a 3 on the tree, a 72 Ford that's a 4 speed auto, along with a Harley, the SS and a DD auto and it all comes down to overall experience.
