Earlier this year I traded my 2012 1SS M6 along with a 2011 Acadia to get my wife a 2016 Silverado LTZ. I really liked the 1SS but she wanted a new truck and I found a 1968 C10 that I could drive daily so we made the deal, and we LOVE the new truck such a sweet ride. Well, fast forward 6 months to a car show called Emerald Coast Cruizin' in Panama City Florida a couple of weeks ago. I pull in and park my C10 and a few guys start crawling all over the the truck, turns out one of them needed to own it more than I need to keep it. Now I got a pocket full of cash and the wife says how about a convertible Camaro? So I start looking for a 2SS convertible in the Florida panhandle area, only 3 within 150 miles

, so we go look at them. First one turns out to have been a rental and it was driven like it was stolen. The next two were both at another dealership; the first was a 2011 yellow on black w/automatic and the second a 2012 white on tan w automatic. My wife liked the yellow but didn't think she could drive it every day, a little to bright. She was indifferent to the white one but we decided to make an offer. The offer was clean trade-in out the door, with the thought that we might get out the door for clean trade-in plus the tax and tag. They wouldn't come off a dollar! I was surprised because we were the only people in a very large dealership on a saturday afternoon, 20 sales people and me, my wife, and son. So we walked. On the 100 mile drive home I decided we should go by and see the "red" ZL1 at another dealership just for giggles. My wife had seen the car and said she didn't want a red one, the car looked fire engine red in the dealer pics, and I figured she'd never go for the price of a ZL1. So we roll into the dealership, unbeknownst to us, that had just closed. We're walking around looking for the car but it wasn't anywhere in sight, I was bummed thinking it had sold. Salesman walks out of the show room and asks if he could help us so I say I though y'all had a ZL1 convertible. He says we do it's around the corner on the used lot, wanna check it out? Of course I say yes. We roll up and my wife says hey that's not red! Then she says, I like that color! Truth be told we had a 2006 TBSS in the same color. Then she say's I like the black wheels, this thing is bad @ss! The guy locks the doors with the remote and then lights it off. My wife jumped at first because she wasn't ready for it. I watch her as the perma-grin sets in, then I look over at the boy with his perma-grin already set. He asks if we want to drive it and the wife shouts heck yeah!! So we take it for a quick ride with both my wife and I driving it. When we get back to the dealership I ask the guy what the number was and he responds, my wife doesn't blink, then I ask if there is any room to move on the number and he says he'll ask. He returns with news that they'll go a G under clean trade-in, wife's grin gets bigger. I'm rolling this around in my feeble brain... I'm thinking, holy crap she want's this car!! He asks if we are interested in seeing the final numbers and the wife responds with, how can we make sure it's not sold before we come back on Monday? Next thing I know she has the checkbook out writing a check for earnest money. My son and I are freaking out! We balked at paying retail for a 2SS just an hour earlier and now we are putting money down on a ZL1 that cost twice as much! Does this stuff really happen? Yes it does my friends, as you all know dreams do come true! We finalized our deal this afternoon on this 2015 ZL1 convertible in Crystal Red Tintcoat with a 6 speed automatic, CAI cold air intake, Kooks long tube headers, and Borla exhaust. I only have a couple pics but I'll get more and better ones tomorrow. We are really looking forward to putting some miles on this beauty.
