Everyone is different. I prefer the stick because I enjoy cornering.
My brother, he loves the strip. He's building a '71 440 Plymouth GTX like he had in the '70s. 747 TourqeFlight, 4:10 screw, 3500 stall, cam from hell, hi-rise intake with a Holley on top.
Only competition were the Hemis. We would emberass 396 Chevelles.
(AHEM, at the Great Lakes Dragaway, of course)
Those old Dodge and Plymouth had the straight line down with the rear leaf springs. Sucker just squatted for an instant, then BAM!
I can't wait for a ride when it's finished!
But it's not something he is ever to drive every day.
My Camaro is more fun to me because I just walk out, spark it up, hot or cold, rain or shine. Let the clutch out in neutral after a few to circulate the trans fluid. Do you do that with your automatic? Put it in neutral for a bit? I've read the pump is off when in park so when I drive an auto I always give it a few in N.
