I already commented on this thread but have given it more thought and we really should not be worried that Ford is getting its stuff together in terms of performance...Like I said before, competition is awesome and we all share a common passion...
That being said...What can GM do in response for the 2011 model year if it's really worried about a now solid competition? (Sorry Mustang guys I'm not saying that the '10 Mustang is crap I'm just saying that in the end the Camaro outperformed this year [yes, except for weight...but all things still considered the numbers are out there]...I'm not going to argue about to what significance or degree, just that this year the Camaro did outperform)...The 2011 Mustang really does look like solid competition so it'll be very interesting...But still, what might GM do in response to solid competition?
Well let's take for example what Ford did in the short run (1 model year solution...2010) with the GT...They took the Bullitt Mustang options and carried them over to the GT to bump up the performance (cold air intake, computer retune, and gears) to gain 15 horsepower...
In the short term, GM could just as easily get it's stuff together with GMPP and start offering packages like this from the factory...Sure they won't be drastic increases (just like the power gain from the '09 to '10 Mustang GT), but say we add even 15 horsepower to the LS3 (441 horsepower)...That'll give a little bump at least and I think it would make it pretty interesting (that little bump did make the Mustang a little livelier so I'd be interested to see what it could do to the Camaro SS...But, yes, whoever it was that mentioned the Law of Diminishing Returns is absolutely right...That does apply. But still, it would be
something)
Don't hate on the Mustangs so much guys...Yes the whole pony car era
did begin with the Mustang and competition is part of the American spirit...It drives us to become better, leaner, faster, or whatever the competition calls for. So without the Mustang we wouldn't be getting newer, cooler features in years to come...
It definitely does feel like the 60's and 70's again...Wait a second...I'm only 21 so I wasn't around hahahaha But you get my point...Very cool to see the "pony car wars" are back in swing lol

Very cool!
That's my take on things and I will say it again...I absolutely love my SS and couldn't have asked for more in a car! The first time I saw my car it was a once in a lifetime experience/feeling and I couldn't have asked for more honestly! I love it and I can't wait to drive it again... I'm out of the country and won't be back for a while... :(
