I have a LS3 with a 6 speed Manual

When I downshift to 2nd gear and slow down I hear a few semi loud pops that seem to come from the exhaust pipes. This usually happens when the engine RPMs go down to 2000 - 1500.

What causes this ? Is it normal ? Has anyone else noticed this ?
