I removed the exhaust and drive shaft for replacement parts, so the base was right there and it was 2 10mm nuts and it came right off, now the new one I put a little bit of grease and used a soft face mallet and tapped into place reinstalled the 2 10mm nuts easy peasy lemon squeezy!!! Do you need to disconnect the shift lever from the shift linkage rod in order to drop the shifter base?
