Lowering springs will be a more stiff ride over factory. Coilovers will give you full options of how you want the car on height, hard or soft front and rear, also are lighter than stock. They cost a lot more than lowering springs but you are getting so much more. I agree it's hard to layout big bucks but you do get a lot for the money.
