Good taste?
This is the way GM has operated for quite some time...introduce a model with a base and upgraded version, then in a couple of years, move the upgraded to middle of the road and introduce a new upgraded version.
F-body has seen this, Corvette has seen this...you name it, it has happened. Every manufacturer does something like this to freshen up cars...heck, I'm sure that even a company like Smart has even done it.
It's one of the risks of going with a first year vehicle. I experienced this with my Trailblazer SS in 2006. When the '07's hit the street, GM had finally made the front and back seats match. My truck had full leather back seats with Alacantra and leather up front. The '07 had Alacantra/leather on both front and back. They also updated the rear wiper to look less goofy and made some minor tweaks to other items on the truck.
No reason to be upset if you've got a first year car...you were one of the first on the road and you got to enjoy the stardom and notoriety that those of us that will follow won't get to enjoy.
