1987 Ford Taurus. 87,000 miles on it, regularly and well maintained. Two alternator replacements, air conditioner failure, bizarre problems with electrical system and finally complete and utter transmission failure followed by sale of car to local scrapyard. Worst piece of crap I have ever owned.

1992 Ford Probe. Alternator, front end, AC, power windows and other more minor troubles. Better than above example, though.

1979 Ford Mustang. Any number of issues, but the biggest being when it burst into flame. Interestingly, this also happened to two other Fords I was personally acquainted with from the same era, one an F-100, the other a station wagon who's make and model I cannot remember.

1996 Ford Taurus. See above, total transmission failure prior to 100,000 miles.

Positive experiences, save for one hard-to-kill Fairlane owned by a friend, have all been with Ford trucks, which seem quite a bit more reliable.

I will never own another Ford if I can help it.*sigh*
