While you might hate controllers, they are better for racing games than a keyboard is. The trigger in your controller works more like a gas pedal in a car. Where as a keyboard key works like the ON/OFF switch to your radio. You will want that variable control in the trigger for you acceleration/power. Take this game for example, trying to get the PERFECT START by tapping the letter "W" 1000 times before you even start to race. Also, think about controlling your car, with the trigger, I can stay off the break, take some power off and cruse around some of the turns at speed, where on a keyboard, I have to take my finger off the key, losing all power. Choice in the end is yours, but I say stay with the controller, learn it, in the end, you will like it, at least for racing games.
