My thought on the question was this:
It's GM's car and if they want to name it Z28...then I guess they can. I think the Z28 name will differentiate the car from all the SS models GM has popped out. I was so damn glad the "Corvette SS" name was shunned in lieu of the ZR1 (long history...its not "new") name for the high-performance version of the Corvette. The Z28 was the track car originally and I agree that using this name to promote the high-performance version is perfect.
Let's get back to the roots of these cars and bring back some of the original GM spirit!
