It's too bad they didn't do it in the opposite order, the way the 1st gen's had it: SS = big motor, Z = fast + handling with a high rev motor of moderate HP/Torque.
I say they should have put the LS3 in the Z and the Caddy motor in the SS. Drop some weight out of the Z . . . plastic front fenders, scoot the engine back 3" . . . whatever. Get it lighter and balanced.
Eh, whatever. Most non-Camaro-nut folks don't even know that it was "only" the 302 in all 60's Z's . . . so I guess it doesn't really matter which was it rolls anyway.
Still, cool news.
