Last week I took off my 8 year old silver and red side stripes (heavily cracked/dry) and had to clay bar and compound all the areas where the stripes were removed. I had some pretty bad shadowing on the right rear quarter panel.
But it came out great and I had new Avery Matte Black side stripes, hood spears, side gills, and mail slot vinyl installed. She looks amazing now, as the matte black looks very nice against the Cyber Gray Metallic. You can barely see it at night, but daytime it looks fantastic. In certain angles it looks like ghost wrap/stripes.
But now I have to go back and clay, polish, and wax the rest of the car I didn't do at first.
I have no idea how the hell professional detailers can do this day after day for a living. My arms get tired after 15 minutes!

Yah first time trying to clay bar her. Only other car I did was the wife's car and that was only doing the areas where the stripes were getting put on.
I'm sure I'll feel it in my arms tomorrow morning lol.
