I run a mid 20s VVT AFM cam and e85-e100. Stock FPCM target 426 kPa using same stock NA injectors since new. FWIW I definitely would not change the entire character (spray angle and pattern) to the supercharged (ZL1) simply because of higher published IFR.
I get sustained 35 mpg highway / 27 mpg combined, 550 rpm idle - mainly transition dynamics, MAF and small pulse adjust.
At 14:1 BMEP peak meets LS9 but plateaus 2000 to 5900, not domed.
So how? Angle, pattern is stock per GM, but stock flex tables are either incomplete, stab in dark or back-to-front. Mainly flow and pressure delta requires work, 0 minimum off time, no extra pulse, no RPM timing offset only for IAT.
TL;DR when you tune for efficient high ethanol blending use the latest possible flex tables as a starting point. Don't trust the stock e38 extra / multiple pulse fuel model rather log EFI parameters and with incremental careful recalibration there's no need for boosting pump or using out-of-spec injectors.
Unless of course you are in a hurry, really don't care about efficiency and are looking for the highest HP @ WOT.
