How funny - I guess this is a new trend!
I recently blogged about a mystery button on my non-Camaro's stereo. It looks like a telephone receiver, so
obviously it has something to do with Bluetooth cell phone use, right? So, I push the button and stereo cheerfully displays: NO PHONE. I ran through the menus, but there is nothing about phones or Bluetooth. Hmmmm. I broke out the manual and there at bottom of page 23 the relevant paragraph begins:
Pressing (Phone) results in "NO PHONE" being displayed.
Ah ha! Now I'm getting somewhere!
I turned the page to continue learning about this feature and... THAT'S IT! The only purpose of the button is to inform me the car doesn't have cell phone capability!

Probably the same thing as the Camaro - a feature abandoned mid-way through development. But, how funny!
By the way, the next article on Edmunds mentions the lack of remote start on with the manual transmission. Nobody seems to do that from the factory, but if you look around you CAN find aftermarket companies that have figured it out. All they did was set it up so that it's impossible to arm the remote start if there car is in gear.
