My owners center has my car at 11,422 miles and a full warranty. However that is the mileage that it had when it was towed to the dealer, and it has not been updated since the day it was towed to the dealer which is one day prior to my warranty being voided. So I have no idea what all of that means other than to say that I have had multiple people and several dealers check and I have no powertrain warranty at all, and likely OP's friend is in the same boat.
