A Z28 as this site has described—a 520-550 horsepower super beast—would take a slot above the Corvette. GM has done this before, so that's okay. The problem is that the Camaro SS is already so close in horsepower to the Corvette that it doesn't make sense to slap on 30 horsepower and call it a Z28. If you want a supercharged beast for a Z28, like the speculated versions discussed on this site, we would need to place the Camaro Z28 above the Corvette Z06. That violates the chain of command at Chevrolet. Had the SS been released with less horsepower, GM would have more wiggle room. There just isn't a place for the Z28. If this Camaro was labeled 1LE or ZL1, it might make more sense to make one that beats the Z06, but that isn't what you guys are seeking.
I will respectfully disagree. to me the Z28 falls in line with the Z06 and the ZR1 naming. so why not? and like as been brought up to me maybe it will be an option we can select when ordering but it's not named Z28. but it's an upgraded suspension and power package. sorta like a track pack.
