The good news is that the price difference between the LS and 1LT should be minimal.

Malibu 1LT $21,350
Impala LS $22,050
Impala 1LT $22,900
Even if it's $1,000 difference, you'd be getting fog lamps, wheels, and a power driver seat with the 1LT.
