I read all the way through this thread . . . Interesting stuff!
I saw your post about slicks being much more forgiving on rear end parts. I suppose that is the opposite of what I have been thinking all along. I do have upgraded DSS driveshaft and axles and 9" conversion so I haven't had any problems to date with running radials. I have been hesitant to switch to a slick because I like the looks and stopping ability of the Brembos. I did hear that Forgestar is rolling out a 17x10 rear and 18x5 front drag wheels in about 3 weeks. I believe the 17x10 will be designed to fit over the Brembos.
Can you get a slick to fit the 17x10?
How much stability do you give up when switching from DR's to a slick?
I am currently running 20" forgelines on the front at the track. If all I did was switch out the fronts to the 18x5 skinny what sort of benefit do you think I would see?
You really think the new 2650 Maggie will be able to support 1000 RWHP? If that is my eventual goal do you think I am making a mistake to go with the F-1X?
Thanks
