Well, I am not an expert by any means, but I do know that the removal of the wheels in order to hook up to the Dyna-Pak does cause a bit of a difference due to the reduced rotational mass. I know the Dyna-Pak software does a lot of calculations and compensation, etc., but I do know this makes a slight difference.
Each run you do, no matter what dyno you are on, is going to give different numbers. There are so many variables, especially heat. I've seen my car do 580 on one pull, 610 on another pull, 590 on another, etc... Thats with SAE correction, etc.
Anyway... overall, I think its more about consistency. Get a baseline on a particular dyno and as you do mods, try to use the same one to look for your gains.
