IF you are going to be THAT determined to clean your car... do what I do. I take the whole wheel off my Suburban twice a year, clean the wheel well, inspect for damage, check your brakes and clean the wheel while it is off. I wouldn't do it every time I wash it but my car is in GREAT condition and still looks new (when it is clean).
