I am referring to the entire supercharger case, impellers, bearings, seals, pulley, snout and isolator complete as a new unit. The cooling brick unit sits on top of the supercharger was reused. I was shown the original supercharger, as it had to be sent back to GM. There was considerable play at the pulley on the snout. This is typical of the spring loaded isolators used on the original superchargers. The replacement supercharger was also rattling right away. I asked that the rattling be addressed and was told that since I already had a replacement supercharger, I am only eligible for a snout replacement. Took it back and had only a new snout and isolator installed. It too was rattling right away. I asked to see the isolator from the replacement supercharger. It was spring loaded. I suspect so is the one that they installed with the subsequent snout replacement. My car is rattling worse than ever. So, yes, I would suspect that the not all replacement superchargers/ replacement snouts are fitted with a solid isolator. Worse yet, the zone rep from GM Canada indicated that there is nothing more that he was willing to authorize to be done to address the rattling. Very frustrating!
