No, just drain, and grab it with a big crescent or if you want, take time to find the correct size wrench then ease it out. It'll have an oring gasket on it. Its a few inches long with a float on the end of it, so straight out and don't snag the float ( which shouldnt be a big deal) then clean the area and lightly lube the oring on the new one and back in snug. It is all plastic so don't overdo it.
