Against What Other Cars Do You See the Z/28 Being Marketed?

Don't shoot me because of what I drive. I am a muscle car fan, age 59. I lived through and participated in the muscle car wars of the 60's and love them all. But the Z/28 has a special place in my past and I continue to root for it being built again.

That said, I have been reading a lot on this Forum (great bunch of people who clearly love their cars) and it seems fuzzy to me what folks see the Z/28 competing with in the market place. The Challenger? The Shelby GT? The Shelby GT500? I am sure there are other examples.

Back in the day, the Z/28 was a small block, lean car that put most its eggs in the performance basket with great results. How do you see it today?
