Video times because I'm not familiar enough with Road Atlanta to put a turn number with what the video is showing. Maybe some day.

I think I know what you're hearing Norm. At most of those spots I'm basically shifting at points where the engine has wound down a little closer to the RPM's for the gear I am shifting to, so you don't hear as drastic of a blip when I shift. At .28 section (T2) still climbing the hill a little and I make a hard stab on the brakes in turn in to T2 at .26. As soon as you hear me lift at .26 I'm at threshold braking just for a stab about the time I'm kissing that curb on the left at T2. I shift right at the end of the curb as I'm turning and aiming for the curb at apex of T3. I'm still trail braking a little as I hit the curb at apex of T3 at .30.
At .44 that is the entry into T5 which is hella tricky and extremely tight but a crap-load of fun! I roll out and begin gently braking as I'm squaring up on the curb to the right. That curb on the right can be really slick with a lot of rubber on it and warm conditions, plus it I don't like how it unsettles my car if I'm on it too high, so I just try to kiss it and look ahead to the curb on the left at T5. That little uphill section (.41 to .44) really helps to slow that heavy car so a gentle stab and some light trail braking is all that's needed to set up for T5. So once I'm pointed for my entry and the car is set I shift up to 3rd while I'm eyes up for my exit of T5.
At 1.05, that is the T6 and T7 section I mentioned earlier. It's as if I'm almost
between gears there as I was having to wait until I was turning into T7 for the car to be able to shift into 2nd gear there and it was really messing up my rhythm through that section, and that is such a quick section that it's all about rhythm and being smooth for me to get a good launch down the long back straight. I eventually stopped shifting there and just stayed in 3rd.
I don't know if that explains anything, but like I said, I think it's just that in those spots I had let the engine rev down to the point an exaggerated blip was not necessary. In the car it sounded exactly like it has always sounded and I didn't have any tranny worries at all.
Brakes on the other hand...
