Stock mic is just like any other mic out there... you were told that it wouldn't work because there are no adapters to connect to it. But that doesn't mean you can't splice wires to the mic and run it to your aftermarket radio.
Taken from another post that had it working.
I was just tracing the wire to do the same instead of opening up the overhead console.
