No, it'll run OK without a tune.
But it'll not be perfect without a tune.
I've datalogged mine in HP Tuners. There are a few areas in the MAF curve that are +/- 5% on LTFT+STFT.
Nothing terrible or to freak out about. But I like my tune to be as perfect as possible.
