The pdim is hard wired from the USB to the pdim to the radio head, no bluetooth required.
A2DP allows some cell phones (now including the iPhone) and other devices that support it to transmit the stereo audio over bluetooth instead of having to plug in at all.

I thought from following all the other threads that there are 2 modules (1 for onstar and one for the C&C package). Doesn't this module pretty much add the C&C package to the car without the steering wheel controls?
My understanding is that the phone bluetooth is integrated into the OnStar module. Cars without C&C just have a slightly different OnStar module than those with it.

It does mention steering wheel control but does not say it adds it.
I'm guessing they don't mention it due to the confusion it would cause (this thread being an example). When people hear "bluetooth" they automatically think "talking on cellphone" when bluetooth is much more broad than just that. Everyone would think that it allows you to use the car stereo for hands free calling which it will not. It's entirely possible but I do not see them providing a different PDIM module that does not include the bluetooth chip (which supports A2DP only).
